This Privacy Policy explains how Frequency Assistant ("Frequency", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our web application and Chrome extension (collectively, the "Services").
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: name, email address, organization, department, and job title.
- Authentication Information: tokens/session identifiers needed to sign in and securely access the Services.
- Extension Content Processing: visible page text and related context from the active tab, only when you intentionally use the extension feature (for example, clicking the extension and running analysis).
- Usage and Technical Information: browser type, extension version, interaction events, diagnostics, crash/error logs, and performance data.
- Optional Uploads: profile photos or files you choose to upload.
We do not collect keystrokes or password fields from websites unless you intentionally submit content to the Services.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide core features such as authentication and account access.
- Generate AI suggestions and responses based on content you choose to submit or analyze.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Improve product quality and performance.
- Send important service and policy notifications.
3. Chrome Extension Data Handling
The extension accesses only the data needed for user-facing features. When page content is processed, it is used only to provide the feature you requested. We do not sell personal information and do not use this data for personalized, interest-based, or re-targeted advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We may share data only as necessary with the following categories:
- Cloud Hosting and Infrastructure Providers to operate and secure the Services.
- AI/Model Providers to generate requested assistant outputs.
- Analytics and Monitoring Providers to measure reliability and performance.
- Email and Support Providers to send service messages and handle support requests.
- Legal Authorities when required by law or legal process.
We require service providers to protect data under confidentiality and security obligations.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser/local extension storage to maintain login sessions, remember preferences, and support secure operation.
6. Data Retention
- Account Information: retained while your account is active and deleted or anonymized within 30 days after verified account deletion request, unless legal obligations require longer retention.
- Submitted/Processed Content: retained for up to 90 days, then deleted or anonymized, unless a longer period is required for security investigations or legal compliance.
- Logs/Diagnostics: retained for up to 30 days, then deleted or anonymized, except where needed for active security or abuse investigations.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You can manage extension permissions in Chrome.
- You can uninstall the extension at any time.
- You can update profile information in the web app.
- You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting support@tryfrequency.com.
We respond to verified data requests within 30 days.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. When required, we apply appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or higher age where required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and post the updated policy at this URL.
